THE MEANING BEHIND 'IF GOD HAD
A NUMBER' - A SERMON SET TO SONG
Sunday light spills across the pews. Footsteps fade as the preacher reaches the altar. A throat clears, the mic hums, pages turn. The room falls silent as the sermon begins. Upbeat guitar and drums swell, uniting the congregation into one steady pulse. If God Had a Number is that sermon set to song. It looks straight at a broken world and asks the question every heart carries: why? The answer is faith and trust—“everything happens for a reason and everyone is where they’re supposed to be.” There is purpose in every step, even when we can’t see God's plan. Breathe, listen, and believe you’re being led toward where you’re meant to be.

THE ARTIST BEHIND THE SERMON - CARA PAIGE ACROSS TRADITIONS
Born and raised Jewish, Cara Paige chose the Gospel tradition for this single because its language of hope fit the story she needed to tell. She set out to bring light into a heavy world through a form that lifts hard truths. Borrowing the cadence of a sermon, she wrote so the message could travel farther—to the people who need it most. In hard seasons, good music should reach anyone who needs it. If God Had a Number was written to do exactly that.
